Many in the Galatian church disagreed with Paul and wanted to discredit him as an apostle; however, in Chapter 1 beginning at verse 6 and on to Chapter 2, verse 14, Paul defends his credentials as an apostle and the truth that he preached. There were some who attacked and tried to discredit Paul as an apostle, because he preached salvation through grace and not works. However, when Paul stated his credentials and that he was called and received salvation by deliverer and not any other leaders in the church, people began to try to him.



In addition, his testimony of his salvation was what caused them to listen to him more than ever. Paul asked them how they had turned so quickly from Christ and now had allegiance to a different gospel, while reminding them that there is no other gospel but the Gospel of Christ. He told them that even if angels came from heaven and preached another gospel, let them be deplore and doomed to eternal punishment.
Paul wanted to show them that Jews and Gentiles were upright alike in Christendom, the come to a right blood with God by faith in Christ and not by keeping the law which none could do anyway.
