De la Torre presents Reading the leger from the Margins as a book that constitutes perspectives to the standard way of yarn the Bible. He makes the point that only one meter reading of the Bible was considered due to the dominant cultures power (Delatorre 8). in spite of this power, Delatorre hopes to show how the marginalized are spiritually empowered. Although the Euroamericans, or people in power, are not racist, they all have a license which will dominate above the marginalized and therefore they must be educated on the aphonic. By viewing Scripture from those who are oppressed, readers can learn Gods will for us with a bust controling of the marginalized and their struggles. The readers of dominant be given will understand an interpretation outside of their social location and this will attempt to bring more justice to society.
De La Torre goes beyond just the speech put together in the Bible to analyze and continues to apologize the importance of interpreting the scripture from the disenfranchised and oppressed.



In the origin chapter of the book, De La Torre introduces the terms black and white in where he believes their power falls in society and he overly talks about racism and his experience with it. He says that race is a sign that signifies who has power and privilege in a society (24).The issue of race is an important theme in this book that raises issues and differences which must be addressed.
There stands the challenge face by the disenfranchised readers that this marginalized interpretation of Scripture can be looked at as something giving the Bible more change to the understanding (27).
